Surprise: I’m back with more reviews! The last month has been beyond hectic but I’m finally getting back into my routine. Don’t worry, though…I read ten books while I was away 😉
I am a HUGE Megan Miranda fan and pre-ordered this when I found out it was being released. The premise was so intriguing and reminded me so much of a plot idea I have been playing with for a few years but haven’t gotten around to writing yet. So, naturally, I had to check it out!
Hollow’s Edge used to be a quiet place. A private and idyllic neighborhood where neighbors dropped in on neighbors, celebrated graduation and holiday parties together, and looked out for one another. But then came the murder of Brandon and Fiona Truett. A year and a half later, Hollow’s Edge is simmering. The residents are trapped, unable to sell their homes, confronted daily by the empty Truett house, and suffocated by their trial testimonies that implicated one of their own. Ruby Fletcher. And now, Ruby’s back.
As I mentioned, the premise piqued my interested, but the first few pages had me hooked. Ruby was such a multi-level, complex character, up until the very last page. The setting was eerie and unsettling. Most of all, no one could be trusted and everyone was a suspect.
My issue with the plot was believability. Other than that, I had no complaints! However, there were a few parts that simply didn’t work for me. That is entirely personal preference, but I like things to make sense!
Have you read this book or plan to? Let me know!
